Construction Estimating Institute (CEI)

CEI’s courses are open to all interested individuals in the construction industry. These courses are held at CEI’s facility on Siesta Key, Florida, and at locations throughout the United States and Canada. Over 200,000 company officers, owners, project managers, estimators, superintendents, foremen, office personnel, and field personnel have attended CEI’s estimating and management courses. CEI’s estimating courses provide the quickest and most efficient way to train new and intermediate estimators.

Students who attend CEI’s estimating training courses receive hands-on training with real sets of blueprints for projects that have actually been built. CEI’s management training courses promote the development of the essential leadership and management skills that employees need to be effective as they progress into management positions. CEI offers a management training course for employees at every level of management, from foremen to project managers.

CEI offers private courses which are customized to meet the training goals of specific companies or organizations. These courses are presented to employees of the company or organization at a location of its choice. Private courses are the best way to train a group of employees from one organization. CEI has provided private training to U.S. Builders, 84 Lumber Company, Bechtel, the Ohio Road Builders Association, Moretrench Environmental Services, Stock Building Supply, the Vancouver Regional Construction Association, and many more companies and organizations.

CEI’s government programs provide training and support for government employees and government contractors. Government training programs are customized to meet the needs and goals of the agencies requesting the training. Special support and training programs are available for state Departments of Transportation and for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises who do work for those departments. Some of CEI’s governmental clients include the U.S. Air Force, the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the New York City Department of Design & Construction.

CEI provides exam preparation courses for contractors seeking to be licensed in Florida. CEI offers both self-paced homestudy courses and live classroom instruction with licensed instructors.

CEI offers continuing education classes for licensed Florida contractors seeking to renew their licenses. Continuing education courses are offered online and as live classroom courses.
